Pentref tlws wedi ennill gwobr y pentref taclusaf yng Nghymru fwy nag unwaith yn ystod pum a chwe degau'r ganrif ddwaetha. Cysylltiadau'r eglwys gyda theulu Nanhoron a chofeb arbennig i'r Capt Timothy Edwards a gollodd ei fywyd ar y môr yn 1780. Ei weddw, Catherine Edwards yn adbanyddus am iddi roi tir i godi'r Capel Newydd i'r Piwritaniaid cynnar.

Maen hir yn y fynwent a'r arysgrif Lladin arno, MELI MEDICI FILI MARTINI IACIT -YMA Y GORWEDD MELITUS Y MEDDYG FAB MARTINUS.

Dilyn y ffordd gyda glannau'r Afon Soch i gyfeiriad canol y penrhyn nes dod i ymyl LLANDYGWNNING a'r eglwys nad yw'n cael ei defnyddio erbyn hyn ond sydd yn arbennig am y twr crwn anghyffredin - y 'pepper-box tower'.

Yma yr oedd maenol NEIGWL yn y Canol Oesoedd a llys tywysog cwmwd Cymydmaen.

 

The village church is connected with the Nanhoron family and there is a memorial stone to Capt. Timothy Edwards to lost his life at sea 1780. His widow, Catherine Edwards was responsible for giving land to found the chapel for the early puritans.

In the churchyard there is a stone with Latin inscription-MELI MEDICI FILI MARTINI IACIT - HERE LIES MELITUS THE MEDIC SON OF MARTINUS.

Following the banks of the river Soch away from the sea we come to the church at Llandygwnning. This church (not now in use) is noteworthy due to its circular tower- the 'pepper-box tower.

This was the manor of Neigwl in the middle ages, and before that the court of the princes of Cymydmaen
