in Llŷn
Manganese
was mined at Rhiw and the works flourished during both world
wars. The economics of this activity makes it an unprofitable
one during peacetime. The ore was shipped out of Porth
Ysgo from the jetty after being transported down inclines
from the mines above.

ore went from Pwllheli during 1808. |
